An extremely rare poster documenting the printing industry in Czarist Russia. The artist must certainly have been familiar with the prevailing trends in French Art Nouveau graphics as the superbly ornate border has elements of design as postulated by Alphonse Mucha and Eugene Grasset. The allegorical image is a delightful representation of a beautiful young patron of the printed arts, sitting on an elaborate chair on a raised platform. Artist's tools surround her and she is examining a freshly pulled lithograph. In the background a man diligently works the press.
